Education Qualification for Bihar NMMSS Scholarship 2026:

Students who have passed Class VII with 55% or more marks in the session 2021-22 and are studying in Class VIII (SC and ST category students will get 5% relaxation), whose parents’ total annual income from all sources does not exceed Rs. 3.50 lakh (Rupees Three Lakh Fifty Thousand) can apply for the NMMSS Academic Session 2025-26 Scheme Year-2026-27. There will be a 5 (five) percent relaxation in passing marks for SC/ST and differently-abled students.

Exam Syllabus for Bihar NMMSS Scholarship 2026:

There is no set syllabus for the Nationalized Income-cum-Merit Scholarship Exam. The purpose of this exam is to identify talented students. Questions in this exam will be based on the subjects/curriculum taught in Class VIII in government schools in the state.

The Mental Ability Test will include verbal and non-verbal questions related to analysis and synthesis, and the Educational Aptitude Test will include questions from Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), Social Science (History, Civics, and Geography), and Mathematics. Each question will carry one mark. All questions will be objective and multiple-choice, with four options. The question paper will be in both Hindi and English. If there is a conflict between the two languages ​​on a particular question, only the English question will be valid. Candidates must enter their answers on an OMR sheet.

• Examination Fee: No fee is required for this exam.

• Examination Center : Examination centers will be determined in all district headquarters according to the number of candidates.
• Selection Process: Under this scheme, eligible students will be selected for scholarships based on a written examination.
• Number of Scholarships: There is a provision to provide scholarships to 100,000 students across India. Under this scheme, each state has a fixed quota. Bihar’s share is 5,433. Each district also has a fixed quota from the state’s quota.
• Reservation: Under this scholarship scheme, Kotiar reservation will be applicable as per the state government’s reservation rules.
• Caste Certificate: Applicants in reserved categories must upload a caste certificate issued by a competent authority (Anchaladhikari/Block Development Officer). If a caste certificate is not uploaded, the General Category option will be selected. Subsequent reservation claims will not be valid.
• Disability Certificate: A disability certificate (minimum 40% disability percentage) issued by a disability specialist (Civil Surgeon)/competent authority must be uploaded.
