How to apply PAN Card
You can apply for PAN card in two Method:
- Online Application.
- Offline Application.
Process to Apply Online:
Step 1: Visit the NSDL or UTIITSL website
- NSDL (National Securities Depository Limited) website: https://www.onlineservices.nsdl.com/paam/endUserRegisterContact.html
- UTIITSL (UTI Infrastructure Technology and Services Limited) website: https://www.pan.utiitsl.com/PAN/
Step 2: Select the form
- Form 49A: For Indian nationals.
- Form 49AA: For foreign nationals.
Step 3: Fill the form
- Enter your personal details like name, date of birth, address, contact number and email id.
- Link your Aadhaar card with the details given to the Income Tax Department.
Step 4: Upload documents
- Identity proof (Aadhaar card, voter ID, passport etc.).
- Address proof (electricity bill, bank statement, rent agreement etc.).
- Passport size photo.
Step 5: Submit application fee
- Pay online (debit/credit card, net banking).
- Fees:
- For sending PAN card to Indian address: ₹93 (including GST).
- For sending PAN card to foreign address: ₹864 (including GST).
Step 6: Submit application
- After submitting the form, an acknowledgement number will be received. Keep it safe.
Step 7: Receive PAN card
- After the application process is complete, the PAN card will be sent to your registered address via post.
- Usually, the PAN card is delivered within 15-20 working days.
Offline application process
Step 1: Download or get the form
- Download Form 49A or 49AA from the website of NSDL or UTIITSL.
- Or get the form from the nearest PAN card service center.
Step 2: Fill the form
- Fill all the required information in the form correctly.
Step 3: Attach documents
- Attach photocopies of identity proof, address proof and photo.
Step 4: Deposit application fee
- Make the payment through demand draft (DD) or cheque.
- The DD should be in favor of “NSDL-PAN” or “UTIITSL”.
Step 5: Submit the form
- Submit the filled form to the nearest NSDL or UTIITSL office.
Step 6: Get the PAN card
- After the process is completed, the PAN card will be sent to your registered address.
Required documents
- Identity proof: Aadhaar card, voter ID, passport, driving license etc.
- Address proof: electricity bill, bank statement, rent agreement etc.
- Passport size photo.

- All information must be correct and true.
